The AR-1 was first built in 1979, and was debuted at the 1979 New York Auto Show. The car is now updated to meet all of today’s standards of a Supercar.

Alessi started rebuilding autos when he was 12 years old, raced as a semi pro at National Speedway in 1968 and 1969 and has been designing or rebuilding cars ever since.

It’s more than American muscle. It’s a pumped up super car featuring a twin turbo engine blasting out 750 horses with 690 pounds of torque. Simply put, the AR-1′s looks and performance scream attitude.

The AR-1, first introduced to the auto world in 1979, is back and faster, leaner and much meaner than before. First shown at the New York Auto Show, reviewed by AutoWeek May 21, 1979 World Cars 1982 and many others, the all new AR-1 has maintained it’s original style while introducing a series of updated, edgier, features.

Todays AR-1′s engine is a GM 5.7 liter twin turbo capable of race track speeds. The braking system has fourteen-inch front discs carrying six piston calibers taking up the rear. A Hydro-boost master cylinder insures that the turbos are always free to push the car to its limits.
This street legal machine can be pushed and pounded since it sports an under carriage of hydro-formed steel, with add 11 gauge steel in key safety areas. The low, body is built as strong as the power train. Each panel is hand made with carefully laid sheets of fiberglass, reinforced with steel in key points. The suspension uses C5 components in both front and rear, while an air suspension system allows adjustable height and spring rate.

Alessi Car Design maintains the old world standards of craftsmanship while integrating today’s most innovative automobile technologies.  No less than four craftsmen are assigned to build each AR-1.

The chassis of each AR-1 is constructed of eleven gauge steel and is welded with a tensile strength of 7030kg/cm^2. Upon completion of the chassis, it is coated with polyurethane to prevent corrosion and rust.  Each body is hand-laid fiberglass with steel reinforcements at key stress points. The body is strong enough to sustain the same extraordinary stress as a boat hull.

The cockpit of the AR-1 is fitted for your specific requirements for headroom, legroom, and seating. As with any true custom sports car, you will need to specify your vision of instrumentations and dash board layout. Interior colors, fabrics and other details will be integrated into the final design.
